Palestine The POOL of HEZEKIAH Jerusalem Old Tucks Oilette Postcard J FulleyloveVintage Old Tuck's Oilette Art Drawn Colour Old Picture Postcard. Middle East Israel Palestine. From "The Holy Land", illustrated by J. Fulleylove R.I. (A. & C. Black). Artist Signed. Jerusalem. / Owing to the natural dry condition of the city of Jerusalem, the pools are useful as rain tanks. The Pool of Hezekiah, an artificial reservoir, is cut out of the rocks, and is partly fed by the overflow from the well of the Virgin. This pool was formerly of larger dimensions reaching under the buildings that are built around it. / Among the objects of interest in the Holy City the pools hold a conspicuous place. Within the walls, immediately north of Zion, is the "Pool of Hezekiah". Fed by a subterranean torrent, the aqueduct runs for a third of a mile, partly tunnelled, but the flow of water is intermittent. The Pools of Solomon, near Bethlehem, still supply Jerusalem with water.Publisher: Raphael Tuck & Sons Wide Wide World Series I
