Background: Located at the entrance to the Khyber Pass, Jamrud Fort was built by the Sikhs in 1823. In 1837, it was here that the Afghans attacked the Sikhs during the Battle of Jamrud and Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa, the Sikh Commander, was killed.
