JERSEY 1907 Tucks OILETTE Postcard Mount Orgueil Castle

Channel Islands Vintage Old Tuck's Artist Drawn Art Colour Postcard. Jersey, Mount Orgueil Castle. The Castle stands on a projecting headland of rock that separates Grouville Bay from St. Anne's Bay. The highest part of the Castle is 310 feet above the sea, and is ascended from the pier by 244 steps, mixed up with pieces of steep road. It was commenced in the 10th Century by the Dukes of Normandy, and was continued by the Kings of England. Queen Victoria visited the Castle on September 3, 1846.
