Armenia Old Tuck's Postcard Threshing Corn, Lagh-Keuy Village, Asia Minor Ismidt

Vintage Old Tuck's Oilette Postcard. Artist Signed by S.A. Zuzian? Armenia. Farmers and Horse. Agriculture. Threshing Corn. This typical picture of agricultural life in Armenia was painted in the neighbourhood of the village of Lagh-Keuy, which is situated a short distance from Ismidt, an important town of about 15,000 inhabitants in Asia Minor. The surrounding country is flat and very fertile, the chief products grown being corn, maize, potatoes, tobacco and vegetables. Many of the methods in vogue and implements in use are of a delightfully primitive character.

Publisher: Raphael Tuck & Sons Oilette Wide Wide World Village Life in Armenia

Background: Armenia, officially the Republic of Armenia, is a sovereign state in the South Caucasus region of Eurasia. Located in West Asia on the Armenian Highlands, it is bordered by Turkey to the west, Georgia to the north, the de facto independent Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran and Azerbaijan's exclave of Nakhchivan to the south. The Republic of Armenia constitutes only one-tenth of historical Armenia.
