We shall never stop, never weary, and never give in. The Prime Minister. Windermere is the largest and best known of the Lakes. With its sylvan woodlands and velvet like meadows, is a fair summary of the whole district. The Langdale Pike, with Bow Fell, are the principal mountains shown. Great Langdale is a valley running from the town of Ambleside to the highest peaks of the Lake District in the county of Cumbria, in the northwest of the England. It is often simply refered to as Langdale, the epithet Great distinguishing it from the neighbouring Little Langdale.
