US Vintage Colour Postcard. Sausage Tree, Riviera Gardens, Miami. The Sausage tree (Kigelia Pinnata) also sometimes called the Fetish Tree, is a native of tropical Africa. It has rough Pinnate Leaves, and flowers which have a rather peculiar appearance and hang suspended by long peduncles. From each flower a large fruit develops. USA Vintage Colour Postcard. 34th Street. UNIVERSITY of PENNSYLVANIA Philadelphia. The University was founded in 1740 by Benjamin Franklin as a charitable school. At the conclusion of the Revolution a new charter was given by the State and the present title was assumed in 1791. In 1875, the university was moved to the present extensive grounds west of the Schuylkill River, where some 30 buildings have been erected and are constantly increased.

US Vintage Colour Postcard. The banyan is one of Florida's most curious trees, which sprouts even from a seed dropped on the limb of any other tree by birds. The roots descend to the soil and in time kill the tree on which they grow. Then as the branches develop, these throw down supports which take root as soon as they touch the ground, enlarge into trunks and extend branches in their turn to all sides of the parent tree. The minimum may be consumed in either food or beverages. Copacabana was a famous New York City nightclub. Many entertainers made their debuts at the Copacabana. The 1978 Barry Manilow song "Copacabana" is named for and about the nightclub, and part of the 2003 Yerba Buena song "Guajira" is set there. The Copa was used as a setting in the films Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Tootsie, Carlito's Way and Beyond the Sea.

Early Colour Artist Signed Picture Postcard. Baltimore Oriole Bird. Icterus galbula. L'Oriole de Baltimore. Length, about 7.5 inches. Named after Lord Baltimore, the patron of the early settlement of Maryland, whose bright livery it wears, the Baltimore Oriole is a bird of the east, extending in Canada to the base of the Rockey Mountains. It is particularly a bird of the park lands, and great trees standing isolated or in clumps, especially elms, are its delight. Its nest is a work of art. Felted and woven of vegetable fibre, wool, string, or any kind of fluff, it forms a substantial deep bag suspended at the ends of long, lithe, or weeping bough tips where even the red squirrel dare not go. In the branches the brilliant male sings throughout the summer, demonstrating with its clear, flute-like whistles that bright feather and beautiful voice can go together. In the winter, while it is sojourning in the warmth of South America, its deserted nest whips and cracks at the ends of the long, lash-like stems, defying with its perfect workmanship the storms of successive seasons that scatter lesser structures in fragments over the ground.
