Vintage Real Photo Photograph Picture Postcard, Sailing Vessel, Boat. Broadstairs, Viking Longship "HUGIN" (Norse for Raven). The "Hugin" may be seen at Pegwell Bay, the site of the original landing in 449 A.D. / The HUGIN, a replica of the Viking Ship used in the Danish invasion 1500 years ago. The volunteer Danish crew brought it from Denmark in 10 days. Bought by THE DAILY MAIL, it will be presented to Ramsgate and Broadstairs as a permanent memorial. / All profits from sales of these postcards will be devoted to The Royal National Lifeboat Institution. |

Le Renflouement. Ship Wreckage. Rescue Boats. Lifeboats. Le LIBERTE Navire de 14.868 tonnes, saute en Rade de Toulon, faisant environ 400 victims. The French Battleship Liberté was a pre-dreadnought battleship of the French Navy. On 25 September 1911, as the Liberté was moored in Toulon harbour, an accidental explosion at the bow at starboard started a fire. At 5:53 PM, the main magazines detonated, destroying the ship and killing 200 of her crew. People on the neighbouring ships and in the port were also killed.
