Sussex 1952 Old Postcard LEWES CASTLE The Keep Interior
Vintage B/W Postcard. Lewes Castle, The Keep (Interior). Ruins. Tree. Note on back : Bought on a visit to Lewes, at Lewes Museum on 7th April 1952. Lewes Castle stands at the highest point of Lewes (England, Sussex), on an artificial mound built originally of chalk blocks. It was built in 1087 by William de Warenne, the brother-in-Law of William the Conqueror.
