Vintage B/W Postcard. La Guerre 1914-18 - Le Fort de Vaux (Meuse). dont l'heroique resistance de nos hommes sous les ordres du Com-mandant RAYNAL sera une des gloires francaises. R.P. Fort Vaux, located in Vaux-Devant-Damloup, Meuse, France, became the second fort to fall in the Battle of Verdun. The defenders put up a desperate fight, with some drinking their own sweat and urine because they were so short on water. It was recaptured by the French in November 1916.

Vintage B/W Postcard. Verdun - Le Fort de Vaux. WW1. Pris par les Allemands dans la nuit du 8 au 9 Juin 1916, malgre l'heroique resistance du Commandant Raynal, repris par nous le 2 Novembre. Fort Vaux, located in Vaux-Devant-Damloup, Meuse, France, became the second fort to fall in the Battle of Verdun.
