Caernarfon Castle was constructed at Caernarfon in North Wales by King Edward I of England, following his successful conquest of the principality. A legend states that his son, later Edward II of England was born here in 1284, but there is no contemporary evidence.

Old Art Drawn Colour Postcard. Blarney Castle. The castle originally dates from before AD 1200. It was destroyed in 1446, but subsequently rebuilt by Dermot McCarthy, the king of Munster. On the top of the castle lies the Stone of Eloquence, also called the Blarney Stone. Tourists visiting Blarney Castle may be positioned upside-down and kiss the stone, which is said to give the gift of eloquence. Photographs are taken of the "magic moment".

Kilchurn Castle is a ruined 15th century structure on the northeastern end of Loch Awe, in Argyll, Scotland.
