France Vintage Old Undivided Back Postcard. French Politician, Armand Barbes. Homme politique francais, ne a la Pointe-a-Pitre en 1809. Membre influent du parti republicain, il se mela a plusieurs conspirations sous Louis-Philippe, fut condamne a mort, mais gracie par le roi. En 1848, il fut elu representant du peuple, et fut condamne a une detention perpetuelle pour avoir participe au 15 Mai. Gracie en 1854, il se retira a la Haye, ou il mourut en 1870. Il fut surnomme - Le Bayard de la Democratie.
