A Lama Beggar. The Lamas are priests of the great Buddhist religion. There are many different grades, from the two chief Lama Popes downwards to the Lama beggar, an interesting and picturesque figure, who tramps the country barefooted, making woeful sounds on rude and barbaric instruments.

Postally Used in 1912 with British Indian King Edward 7th 1a stamp, tied Darjeeling Bazar. Addressed to Bruxelles Belgique. Brussels Belgium.
