St. Edward's Crown of England, Made for Charles II in 1662 Old Colour PostcardVintage Old Colour Postcard, St. Edward's Crown or The Crown of England. Made for Charles II in 1662 after the pattern of the ancient Crown destroyed by the Commonwealth. With this Crown the Sovereign is crowned by the Archbishop of Canterbury at the Coronation. Being very heavy it is almost immediately taken off and replaced by the Imperial State Crown, popularly known as the Diamond Crown.
