South Africa Cape Town Adderley Street Dutch Reformed Church Old Tuck's PostcardVintage Old Tuck's Oilette Picture Post Card, Art Artist Drawn. Cape Town, Adderley Street, Street Scene. Capetown. South Africa. Tram, Tramway. / The view depicted shows the principal thoroughfare of Cape Town. The building in the right hand corner of the picture is the Dutch Reformed Church, and the handsome edifices on either side of the street mark the progress South Africa has made. Its former name was Heerengracht - "Gentleman's Canal" - so given on account of the stream of water which flowed its whole length, emptying itself into the sea. It was rechristened after the late Lord Norton, whose family name of Adderley it now bears.Publisher: Raphael Tuck & Sons Cape Town Series IV Wide Wide World
