Governor of the Punjab under Shah Jahan. Over the noble entrance is written in Persian : Remove thy heart from the gardens of the world and note that this building is the true home of man. From the gallery round the minaret in the picture there is a fine view over the City of Lahore. Lahore is the capital of the Punjab and is the 2nd largest city in Pakistan after Karachi. It is also often called the Gardens of the Mughals or the City of Gardens. It is located near the Ravi River and Wagah, close to the Pakistan-India border. It was under British rule during 1849-1947.
