Marshal Ferdinand Foch was born at Tarbes, October 2nd 1851. Adopting the Army as his career, he early showed great strategic abilities and for several years was Commander of L'Ecole de Guerre. "Learn to Think" were the worlds he addressed to his pupils in that school, and it is Marshal Foch's wonderful powers of mind that swept the Allies to Victory.
