India Old Tuck's Oilette Postcard Akbar Akbar's Tomb Agra Gateway to Garden, ARTVintage British Indian Tuck's Oilette Art Artist Drawn Old Post card. India. Akbar's Tomb, Agra. A fine gateway leads to the beautiful garden in which the Mausoleum of the Emperor Akbar (1556-1605 A.D.) is situated. He died in Agra, a city that was for a time named after him - Akbarabad. The Mausoleum is a pyramidal building of 4 storeys, three of red sandstone and the fourth of white marble. A gentle incline leads down to the dark vaulted chamber where the great Akbar reposes and exactly above in the centre of the beautiful top storey is the white marble cenotaph of the Emperor.Publisher: Raphael Tuck & Sons Wide Wide World Agra Series II
