It was one of the first outdoor camps in England for German prisoners. They were German nationals who had been stranded in Britain when the war broke out and were deemed a threat to national security.
Frimley is a small English town situated 2 miles (3 km) south of Camberley, in the extreme west of Surrey, adjacent to the border with Hampshire in the Borough of Surrey Heath
