Lake District. 1906.Falls of Lodore. Southey made these famous by his poem "how the water comes down at Lodore" and the Falls are as great a four-de-force as the poem. They are on Derwentwater, about 3 1/2 miles from Keswick. The Falls are not properly falls at al, but rather only the rapid hundred-foot descent of a somewhat slender stream over the innumerable rocks edges by the towering Gowder Crag and Shepherd's Crag to right and left.
