Falls of Lodore on Derwentwater Lake nr Keswick 1906 Old Tuck's Oilette Postcard

Vintage Old Tuck's Oilette Art Artist Drawn Old Postcard. Falls of Lodore, Waterfalls. Water Falls. Rocks. Lake District. 1906.

Falls of Lodore. Southey made these famous by his poem "how the water comes down at Lodore" and the Falls are as great a four-de-force as the poem. They are on Derwentwater, about 3 1/2 miles from Keswick. The Falls are not properly falls at al, but rather only the rapid hundred-foot descent of a somewhat slender stream over the innumerable rocks edges by the towering Gowder Crag and Shepherd's Crag to right and left.
