Vintage Colour Art Artist Drawn Egyptian Old Postcard. c.1920, On Board ORIENT Liner. The Sphinx. Tuck's Oilette. The Sphinx, reckoned amongst the greatest wonders of the world, was shaped from a mass of rock in the time of King Khephren (IV Dynasty 2850 B.C.), & represents the head of the King with the body of a lion. It was disfigured by a fanatical Sheikh in 1380 A.D.
