The Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum 明孝陵 is the tomb of the Hongwu Emperor, the founder of the Ming Dynasty. It lies at the southern foot of Purple Mountain, located east of the historical centre of Nanjing, China. Legend says that in order to prevent robbery of the tomb, 13 identical processions of funeral troops started from 13 city gates to obscure the real burying site.

Background: he Hongwu Emperor (Chinese: 洪武帝; Wade–Giles: Hung-wu Emperor; 1328 – 1398) — known variably by his given name Zhu Yuanzhang (Chinese: 朱元璋; Wade–Giles: Chu Yuan-chang) and by his temple name Taizu of Ming (Chinese: 明太祖; literally "Great Ancestor of Ming") — was the founder and first emperor of the Ming Dynasty of China. His era name, Hongwu, means "vastly martial". Rebel and overthrown the Yuan rulers.
