Vintage Old Small Cigarette Card. 3.5cm x 6.7cm. 1926. Cavanders Ltd London Established 1775. China. Ancient Chinese. No. 15. Ethnic Life. Native Chinese Barber at Work. The Chinese common people and mandarins, in distinction from the Tauist and Buddhist priests, have the head shaved once in 10 or 15 days, excepting a circular portion on the crown. The hair on this part is allowed to grow, and is braided into a tress. The ambition of some men is to have the hair reach nearly to the ground, and frequently bunches of other hair are braided into the natural hair to increase the length.
