Vintage Old Small Cigarette Card. 3.5cm x 6.7cm. 1926. Cavanders Ltd London Established 1775. China. Ancient Chinese. No. 18. Ethnic Life. Dragon Procession. Manoeuvring the dragon is a common sport during the festivities connected with the first Chinese month. An image of a dragon is made with a framework of bamboo hoops covered with cloth and lighted inside. Short poles are fixed to the under side so that it can be elevated above the heads of the men carrying it. Owing to its flexible construction it can be twisted into various shapes.
