No. 17. Ethnic Life. Cormorant Bird. Fishing Net. In some parts of China cormorants birds are used for fishing. The fisherman usually stands upon a raft made of bamboos and propelled by a paddle. He has 3 or 4 tame cormorants, which dive and catch fish, but are prevented from swallowing them by a string round the neck.
