Water not only flooded along the river Seine but went through the newly built Metro network into the center of the city. On January 28, 12 days after the beginning of the flood, water was 6 meters higher than usual at the Pont d'Austerlitz. Throughout the city you can still find marks of this flood.

The Grande Chartreuse is the head monastery of the Carthusian order. It is located in the Chartreuse mountains, to the north of the city of Grenoble, in the commune of Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse in the Isère département of France. Originally, the house belonged the see of Grenoble, and Saint Hugh gave it to Saint Bruno and his followers in 1084. With that house, Bruno founded the Carthusian Order.
