Vintage Colour Old Postcard. Ceylon Sri Lanka Ceylan. Woman holding Flowers. Sigiriya Frescoes. - Sigiriya or Lion Rock is a gigantic mass of Granite rising about 600 feet above the surrounding plain and contains on its summit the ruins of the citadel of King Kassapa the parricide ruler of Ceylon. The famous frescoes are painted on the plastered walls of a natural cavern situated half way up the mighty rock and, in all probability, date to the 6th century A.D.
