YELLOW BUNTING or YELLOW HAMMER is the commonest of our buntings, and its song, which has been rendered as a little bit of bread and no cheese, is familiar to many. The nest is made of grass, lined with horse-hair and bents, and usually placed in a hedge-bottom or a roadside bank.
