TRAMCAR Llandudno, Colwyn Bay Electric Railway PostcardColour Picture Postcard, TRAMCAR No. 6 Llandudno and Colwyn Bay Electric Railway. Built by the United Electric Car Co. of Preston in 1914 and operated by the Bournemouth Corporation until 1936 when it was purchased for operation at Llandudno. Seating capacity 66 and equipped with two B.T.H. type G.E. 249 motors of 40 h.p. each and Westinghouse T2C controllers. Mounted on Brill type 22E Bogie Trucks of 3ft. 6in. gauge and fitted with hand magnetic and mechanical brakes. They were the last British open-top 3ft. 6in. gauge cars to operate in this country and were finally withdrawn from service in 1956. Tramcar No. 6 in preserved at the Museum of British Transport.
