Each Regimental Memorial is a panel within an arch, with the Regimental Crest and Honours. In the spandrils of the arches above the Memorial are Coats of Arms, representing counties or towns of the territorial districts of the regiment. The base of the panel forms a table on which rests the roll of honour. Edinburgh Castle, an ancient stronghold on the Castle Rock in the centre of the city of Edinburgh, has been in use by assorted military forces since prehistoric times and only transferred from the Ministry of Defence recently. It lies at the top of the Royal Mile, the principal street of the Old Town which leads down to Holyrood Palace. The castle is open to visitors, and is managed by Historic Scotland. Pitlochry (Baile Chloichridh in Gaelic) is a burgh in Perthshire, Scotland, lying on the River Tummel within the council area of Perth and Kinross. It is largely a twentieth century town, having grown as a tourist resort, in particular a centre for hill walking. The town has two whisky distilleries (Edradour, which is billed as the smallest distillery in Scotland, and Blair Athol), a small theatre, a small brewery (Moulin Brewery), and a hydroelectric power station. The dam which provides the power is known for its 311 metre long salmon ladder; fish can be viewed leaping from weir to weir within the ladder, via an underwater viewing station or via video from inside the visitor centre.
