Head Office : 22 Charing Cross Road, London. The return of Lifeboat. Mr. Gribble's fine painting depicts the ardous work of the Life Boat Crews. A three-mastered vessel has been driven ashore in a heavy gale. The Life-Boat has reached her, and found not only the crew but the Captain's wife and cild on board. They have been safely rescued, but only after long exposure and suffering. The Life-Boat crew show signs of their exhausting struggle, while the Life-Boat herself has had her mast broken and her sail carried away. Nearly 58,000 lives rescued since 1824. The Institution receives no subsidy from the State.
