Marrakesh, the capital of Southern Morocco, was founded by the Emir Jusef ben Tachefyn, surrouned by a lime and earth wall (now somewhat dilapidated) more than 5 miles in circumference and 20 to 30 feet high, which is pierced by seven gates. / Postally used with Maltese stamp King Edward 7th 1d.
