London Old Postcard WESTMINSTER ABBEY Lady Nightingall

Early B/W Postcard. London, Westminster Abbey. Monument to Lady Nightingall. Sculpture, Statue. Lady Nightingale died 1731, and her husband 1752. She was the daughter of Earl Ferrers, sister of the famous Countess of Huntingdon. Monument in St. John the Evangelist Chapel, erected by her son in 1761, depicts death emerging from a tomb and launching his dart at the dying lady whilst her husband tries to ward off the attack.
