Background: The Ogden-Lucin cut-off This construction is 103 miles in length, 72 miles on land and fill-ins over the water of the Great Salt Lake. The cost of construction was about 7 million dollars, and it eliminates 43 miles of travel and 1515 feet of grade curves.
