Locomotive Train ENGINE Postcard Midland Rail - LMS 216

Early B/W Postcard. Train. Railway. Vintage Steam L.M.S. LMS (Midland) 2-4-0 No. 216. Between 1866 and 1881 Kirtley and Johnson designed and built eight classes of 2-4-0's for the Midland Railway, some with single and some double frames. No. 216 had been modernised with a Belpaire firebox when the photograph was taken, she survived to be allocated British Rail No. 58022, but never actually carried it.
