LOCH FASKALLY PITLOCHRY Old Postcard - Green Park HOTELOld B/W Postcard. The Green Park Hotel from Loch Faskally Pitlochry.Publisher: The Best of All series, JB White Series No: A7712 Condition: Unused Background: Pitlochry (Baile Chloichridh in Gaelic) is a burgh in Perthshire, Scotland, lying on the River Tummel within the council area of Perth and Kinross. It is largely a twentieth century town, having grown as a tourist resort, in particular a centre for hill walking. The town has two whisky distilleries (Edradour, which is billed as the smallest distillery in Scotland, and Blair Athol), a small theatre, a small brewery (Moulin Brewery), and a hydroelectric power station. The dam which provides the power is known for its 311 metre long salmon ladder; fish can be viewed leaping from weir to weir within the ladder, via an underwater viewing station or via video from inside the visitor centre.
