JUNKERS JU 87D German Dive Bomber Monoplane - Old CardEarly B/W Post card. Valentine's Aircraft Recognition Cards. The Third-Class Proficiency Test Series. JUNKERS JU 87D German Dive Bomber Plane. One junkers Jumbo 211 12-cylinder inverted Vee, in-line motor. Developed from the Junkers Ju 87 with a trousered undercarriage by way of the Junkers Ju 87b and Ju 87c. This new Stuka has a considerably cleaned up nose including a much smaller radiator, a lower and more streamlined cockpit cover, and larger spats. The older Ju 87c was only slightly modified from the Ju 87b and there was hardly any noticeable difference in the air. The Ju 87d has had its appearance altered enough to change some of the recognition features. / Recognition points - Single motor low-wing monoplane with inverted gull wigs, fixed spatted undercarriage, and single large angular fin and rudder. Clean pointed nose with small radiator just forward of the mainplane, low cockpit cover, rectangular tailplane, fixed tail wheel.
