Background: Piramide di Caio Cestio, or the Pyramid of Cestius, is an Egyptian-style pyramid in Rome, Italy near Porta San Paolo. It was built about 12 BC, and was later (3rd century) included inside the Aurelian Walls. It was built as a tomb for Caius Cestius Epulonis, a member of the Septemviri Collegium. In 30 BC, Rome had conqueres Egypt, and the new province ancient culture deeply influenced Romans.
