Background: Boulogne-sur-Mer is a town in northern France, in the Pas-de-Calais d�partement of which it is a sous-pr�fecture. Located by the English Channel, at the mouth of the river Liane, it is the France's biggest fishing port. It has been an important town and port since Roman times, when it was the main link for trade and military movements between Roman Gaul and Britain.
