Background: On the outbreak of the Second World War Churchill was appointed First Lord of the Admiralty and on 4th April 1940 became chairman of the Military Coordinating Committee. On 10th May, 1940, George VI appointed Churchill as prime minister
Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected USA President in November 1932, to the 1st of 4 terms. When France fell & England came under siege in 1940 (WW2), he began to send Great Britain all possible aid. When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, he directed organization of the Nation's manpower & resources for global war.
Chiang Kai Shek, Chinese statesman and military leader, joined Dr. Sun Yat-sen's United Revolutionary League, forerunner of the Kuomintang (KMT). In 1942 he became the supreme commander of the Allied forces in the China theater.
Stalin (1879-1953), was the undisputed leader of the USSR from 1929 until his death. He helped to turn Russia into a great industrial nation, to defeat HITLER in WORLD WAR II.
