Condition: Very Good
Background: The Whirpool is a mile below the Falls. Here the river changes its course to the right, and the force of the pent-up waters swinging round in search of an outlet is such that the level of the centre is 3 feet above that of the outer edge. All objects passing over the Falls are carried down by the current to the Whirlpool where, after circling perhaps for days, they are either thrown out on the bank, or once mroe caught by the current, and swept on the Lake Ontario.
