Broadstairs Kent Postcard Replica Viking Longship HUGINModern reproduction of an Old Judges' Postcard, Boats, Bygone Times of Broadstairs, The Replica Viking Longship "HUGIN" (Norse for Raven), beached at Broadstairs 28 July 1949. The event was to commemorate the 1500th anniversaryof the landing of Hengist and his band of Jutish mercenaries. The "Hugin" may be seen at Pegwell Bay, the site of the original landing in 449 A.D.
