Broadstairs Kent Postcard Pierremont Mill 1827 WINDMILL

Modern reproduction of an Old Judges' Postcard, Children, cyclist & Bicycle, Windmill, Bygone Times of Broadstairs Pierremont Mill before it was demolished in 1909. A mill known to generations of mariners as a seamark stood on the highest part of the town since 1596. The name Pierremont is derived from the French for St. Peter's Mount. the mill shown was built by Thomas Hodgman in 1827.
