BADGER Animals 1977 Early Colour Postcard by J. Salmon
Early Colour Postcard. Animal. Dachs. Badger. Though rarely seen, being shy and nocturnal in their habits, badgers are quite common and widespread, living underground in large sets, dug in soft earth and having several entrances. Their principal diet consists of grubs, beetles, roots and birds' eggs. Sent from St. Austell Cornwall to Bucks. Badger, Latin name : MELES TAXUS. An inhabitant of woodland, living in dens or earths lined with grasses. A nocturnal rambler whose food is roots, fruit, rabbits and any small animals it can catch. Does well in captivity and if taken young can be tamed to run at large.
